Real Time Imaging Labs

Overview

The Shared Instrumentation Facility of the Department of Biology at Texas A&M University combines the equipment and human resources in the areas of real time imaging and functional genomics to assist researchers in cellular and molecular data acquisition and analysis.

The creation of the Shared Instrumentation Facility (SIF) enables users to extend the boundaries of their own research. The Functional Genomics Lab, directed by Dr. Terry Thomas, allows users to perform modern genomics analyses including high density DNA microarray technology for transcriptional profiling and EST analysis. The Real Time Imaging Lab, directed by Dr. Mark Zoran, allows users to perform electrophysiological and real-time imaging of gene expression.
