I could have concentrated on a whole round of cocktail parties and white-tie dinners. If we continue to concentrate on that area we can figure we will lose the battle. What our diplomats need to do, is to get out and mingle with students, labor leaders, and opinion makers, who comprise the “wave of the future".
Vice President Richard Nixon
Course Description: This is an advanced field course emphasizing the biological, ecological, natural history and philosophical attributes of tropical ecosystems, appropriate for students interested in ecology and research methods. Students will develop the skills needed to plan and conduct a research project, to include preliminary review of the scientific literature, development of a hypothesis, and design of the project. Once in Costa Rica, students will collection their data, the analyze and interpret the results after returning to the United States. Students will then present the results of their research project in both written and poster format.
