Welcome to Undergraduate Microbiology
Undergraduate Microbiology explores a microscopic but powerful realm that includes bacteria, viruses, fungi, algae, and protozoans. Students will be introduced to the basic tenets of microbiology, genetics, physiology, and pathology of various microbes. Microbiology is not just about disease - only about 1% of known organisms cause disease. Microbes are in us, on us, and everywhere around us - actually there are more microbes in and on you (1013) than there are cells that make up your body(1012). So join the journey to see how microbiology, a major part of the universe, influences your life.

Laboratory Attendance is Required
If you know you are going to miss a lab due to a field trip, interview, or other excused event, please notify the laboratory director immediately in order to schedule a make up laboratory. Please have your documentation available for all excused absences.
