T. Hornbacks afterwards
Future Events This Semester
- Nothing more :(
Past Events This Semester
- January 31
- We welcomed back our members and had a pretty light meeting.
We discussed such things as our weekly study sessions and our tentative trip to the
Human Genome Sequencing Center at Baylor College of Medicine. Also were mentioned two
opportunities for students to check out current research going on here at A&M
at the genetics and biology deparments graduate school requiting weekends. These
will be great chances for students to get a feel for graduate research if they are
looking at grad school in the future.
- February 7
- The last of the biology forum meetings. We had a moderate turnout,
but were able to put together a working proposal for the administration. It is never
too late to add your opinion by filling out our questionaire. Go to our
forum page for directions on filling one out.
- February 28
- Well, we had a pretty decent turnout for bowling (I guess
that everyone wanted to see our fearless leader knock the socks off everyone else)
Back to reality - it was a lot of fun, be on the watch for our next social.
- March 7
- Just a night to go over some business. We decided on a desired time
for the trip (I'll let you know if we can get it soon). Also due to low turnouts at the
study sessions, it was decided that Mondays from 5-7 PM would be better for everyone. We
are still working onthe testbank, so please turn in any old tests that you may have. Finally
a congrats to everyone (mostly Angela) - we have sold all of the shirts. I think that this is
a first.
- March 28
- More business. We decided to meet at 12:20 in the HEEP lobby for the trip
on April 6th. Also we went over a few ideas for what can be done next year in terms
of the agenda and other recruitment events. Information on getting a table at the
MSC open house was obtained so look for us there next semester.
- April 6
- Trip to the genome center. It was a lot of fun and very informative.
We got to look at equipment that is worth 5 times our college education and get to see
the fastest growing field in biology at this time. We also decided to grab a little pasta
while in Houston since it is so hard to find good itailian food in college station.
- April 11
- We now have new officers. Intersted in who they are, well you can
meet them at the end of the year social on March 25.
