Dr. Dylan McCreedy Honored with Undergraduate Mentoring Award

Texas A&M University Department of Biology is proud to announce that Dr. Dylan McCreedy has been awarded the Undergraduate Mentoring Award by the College of Arts and Sciences. This award recognizes faculty who go above and beyond to mentor undergraduate students through high-impact learning experiences outside the classroom.
Dr. McCreedy’s dedication to undergraduate research spans both biology and biomedical engineering, where he provides hands-on training in experimental design, data analysis, and scientific communication. Over 30 undergraduates have worked in his lab, with seven earning co-authorship on peer-reviewed publications, including in PNAS. He is also a key contributor to programs like BioFirst and the Aggie Research Program, helping students secure paid research positions and access meaningful academic opportunities.
Thanks to his mentorship, many of his students have gone on to earn prestigious fellowships and gain admission to leading graduate, medical, and research programs. Dr. McCreedy’s commitment ensures that students not only thrive at Texas A&M but are also well-prepared for long-term success in STEM careers.
