This flagship facility will elevate our capacity for groundbreaking research, immersive student education, and interdisciplinary discovery.

The Texas A&M Biology Department serves over 20,000 students through its nationally recognized undergraduate biology program and research opportunities, supports +2,000 undergraduate biology majors, and trains over 100 Ph.D. students. Our work touches nearly every life science field—from neuroscience and regeneration to synthetic biology and evolution.

New Biology Teaching and Research Building at Texas A&M

The Texas A&M University System Board of Regents has approved the construction of the Biology Teaching & Research Building, a next-generation facility that will transform how we teach, learn, and innovate.

Purpose: A dynamic space supporting teaching labs, life science research, and student collaboration across the life sciences.

Scope: 184,000+ square feet with cutting-edge lab spaces, immersive learning environments, and visual science exhibits.

Strategic Impact: Supports faculty growth, biology research excellence, and STEM workforce readiness, all aligned with system-wide imperatives.
